SummaryUnder the direction of the Tram Operations Manager, the Supervisor is designated to oversee the aerial tramway’s operating practices and personnel for the purpose of public use. The supervisor may delegate some authority but shall oversee the operation and operating personnel of the aerial tramway, as called for by the owner as part of the operation and maintenance quality assurance plan (per ANSI B-77 1.5.4).

Pay and BenefitsSeasonal Employees are eligible for the Seasonal Employee Layoff Bonus Plan. The plan is designed to motivate and compensate eligible seasonal employees during the term of their assignment. Goldbelt, Inc. may, in certain limited circumstances, grant discretionary performance bonuses outside of this program, at the sole discretion of the Company. Starting Rate: $30.00 - DOE.
Responsibilities- Oversees practices that ensure the aerial tramway is operational and that all operating personnel are trained, equipped, and capable of performing their duties prior to public operation. Constantly monitors factors affecting the safe and efficient operation of the tramway cars and Tram Control.
- Authorized to discontinue operations of the aerial tramway due to physical, adverse weather, personnel or other reasons.
- Destroys access to the aerial tramway to any person, using procedures and criteria provided.
- Oversees operational procedures and adherence to applicable regulations pertaining to the aerial tramway.
- Ensures that subordinates are trained (including in emergency rope evacuation), equipped and fit to perform their duties. Emphasizes the importance of customer service; monitors staff’s provision of the same and corrects weaknesses or problems. Periodically reviews the operator’s manual with each new and returning employee; records all training per the ANSI code.
- Familiarizes themselves with all tram systems and normal operations.
- Performs basic troubleshooting of tram systems and records/logs faults and bypasses per ANSI code.
- May perform the duties of a Tram Operator or Tram Attendant when necessary due to understaffing, unexpected absences, or emergencies; on call during the regular tram operating season and assists the Tram Operations Manager when needed.
- Enforces operational and safety rules; informs the manager at all times regarding any condition or occurrence that may adversely affect the safety of the operation; ensures all signs in the ramp area, safety equipment and rope evacuation equipment are in place.
- Participates in conducting emergency evacuation under the direction of the Tram Operations Manager. Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.

- Ability to handle stress under pressure.
- Ability to physically climb out of the tramway cabin and perform rope evacuations.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to train staff in tram operations, emergency evacuation procedures, and basic customer service skills.
- Ability to learn, understand and follow verbal and manual instructions; operate within ANSI codes.
- Skill in operating personal computer and various software.
- Working knowledge of tram operations systems.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with other employees.
- Ability to work directly with the public, providing information and assistance on a daily basis.
- Willingness to learn and share information about local history, culture, geography, etc.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of one season as an aerial tram operator.
- Lead/supervisory experience, including scheduling and training subordinates in any environment.
- Current CPR and first aid certificates, or ability to obtain within 90 days.
- Ability to successfully pass a background check.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Prior tram operations experience.
