Alaska Marine Trucking provides and manages local freight distribution services in Alaska, including loading, unloading, warehousing, pickup and delivery. We work closely with Alaska Marine Lines in coastal communities throughout Southeast, Central, and Western Alaska.

Driver (Full Time) – Juneau, Alaska.

Transport and deliver freight to and from customer facilities.

• Safety is the primary responsibility to employees and customers; maintain a constant state of alertness.
• Inspect truck and trailer for defects and submit daily vehicle inspection forms.
• Check shipping papers for accurate descriptions of commodities, including hazardous materials.
• Collect payment for delivered goods and delivery charges when necessary.
• Maneuver vehicle safely in traffic, inclement weather, and challenging facilities.
• Maintain telephone or radio contact with dispatcher.
• Operate forklifts (3000–100000 lbs) to move freight between equipment, warehouse, and yard locations.
• Load and unload trucks/trailers; secure shipments with straps, ropes, lumber, etc.; may climb onto decks or into containers as needed.
• Assist in maintenance of company property, including sweeping the warehouse floor and other housekeeping duties.
• Report all safety hazards, incidents, and accidents involving cargo, vehicles, personnel, or citizens.
• Maintain records required for compliance with state, federal, and corporate regulations.
• Work flexible hours.

• Class A CDL with all required endorsements.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Mechanical inclination and ability to perform duties satisfactorily.
• Attendance and timeliness essential; minimum 40 hours per week on a planned continuous basis.
• Ability to read, interpret, and write documents such as bills of lading, tariffs, delivery receipts, and safety manuals.
• Ability to speak effectively and clearly with customers, vendors, managers, and employees.
• Mathematical ability to perform arithmetic operations and apply percentages, ratios, and proportions.
• Ability to understand detailed written and oral instructions; prioritize and problem‑solve in safety‑sensitive situations.
• Attention to detail, interpersonal skills, and organizational ability.
• Flexible to work extended hours and adapt to change.
• Maintain accurate records and reports in the provided maintenance software.
• Work independently or as part of a team.

• Current Class "A" Alaska Commercial Driver’s License with Hazardous Materials endorsement.
• Acceptable driving records.
• Current Medical Examiner’s Card or Certificate.
• Ability to obtain TWIC card.
• Forklift certifications for lifting capacities between 3000–100000 lbs.

• Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear; balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch during inspections.
• Use hands, arms, and fingers for steering, operating controls, lifting, transporting, and securing freight.
• Keyboard, phone, fax, radio proficiency.
• Regular hearing, speaking, and listening with radios and customers.
• Required vision capabilities for detailed tasks; adjust focus during the job.
• Regularly lift and move up to 25 pounds; occasionally up to 50 pounds.
• Potential light duty warehousing work and tractor driving.

• Near moving mechanical parts; exposure to fumes, airborne particles, vibration, chemicals, wet or humid conditions, and high places.
• Risk of electric shock occasionally.
• Noise level ranges from moderate to loud.
• Exposure to outside weather, including Arctic cold and extreme heat and cold.

• Successful passing of employment drug test, background investigation, and FMCSA Clearing House check.
