The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF), Northern Region Highways & Aviation, is looking for an Equipment Operator Lead/Journey 3 to help us Keep Alaska Moving!

What you will be doing:

The Equipment Operator Lead/Journey 3 position plays a key role in keeping rural airports and roadways across the Western District safe, operational, and compliant. Traveling among 40+ remote airports, this position will assess conditions, coordinate maintenance and repairs, operate heavy and light equipment, and oversee airport infrastructure and facilities. The position will work closely with local contractors, DOT&PF staff, communities, and aviation partners to coordinate projects, provide training and direction, and ensure work is completed safely and effectively.

This position also supports maintenance and ARFF operations at the Nome Airport, providing a unique opportunity to work in diverse, remote locations while making a direct impact on the communities and travelers who rely on these critical transportation facilities.
