Bookkeeper

Description We are looking for a Bookkeeper to support a small construction office in Florida. This contract-to-permanent position is ideal for someone who enjoys keeping financial records accurate, staying organized, and helping day-to-day office operations run smoothly. The role combines core bookkeeping duties with light payroll and administrative support in a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities:

- Process vendor invoices, prepare payments, and keep accounts payable records current and accurate.

- Create customer invoices, record incoming payments, and follow up on outstanding balances as needed.

- Reconcile bank activity in Quick Books Desktop to ensure financial data aligns with account records.

- Maintain orderly bookkeeping documentation and update financial files with a strong focus on accuracy.

- Assist with payroll-related tasks, including entering information and supporting routine payroll processing.

- Provide administrative and human resources support by updating employee files and helping with onboarding documents.

- Respond to questions from vendors, employees, and leadership in a timely and courteous manner.

- Safeguard sensitive financial and personnel information while following established office procedures. Requirements - Experience in bookkeeping with working knowledge of general accounting practices.

- Proficiency using Quick Books Desktop for daily financial transactions and record maintenance.

- Hands-on experience managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.

- Ability to handle payroll support and basic administrative tasks with careful attention to detail.

- Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain accurate records in a small office setting.

- Clear communication skills for interacting with vendors, staff, and management.

- Construction industry experience is preferred.
