Position: Locum Tenens Cardiothoracic Anesthesiologist / Cardiac Anesthesiologist
Assignment Type: Locum Tenens (Travel Physician)

Duration: 13 weeks
Shifts per Week: 4
Shift Duration: 10-hour day shifts
Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM
Hours per Week: 40
Call: Required; some weekday call and MD-only 24-hour weekend call Friday through Sunday
Weekend Frequency: Approximately 1 weekend call per month
Charting/EMR: Epic EMR experience preferred
Care Team Model: 12 MDAs / 26 CRNAs; cardiac cases performed solo and with care team; weekend coverage MD only
Credentialing Timeline: 60–90 days
Special Scheduling Requirement: Must be available 7/20–7/24 and either 7/18–7/19 or 7/25–7/26 weekend call in addition to regular rotation
Compensation: Estimated weekly pay range: $12,550–$13,230
Job Requirements
Experience:
Minimum 1 year recent cardiothoracic or cardiac anesthesia experience
Fellowship: Cardiac Anesthesia Fellowship completed
Certification: TEE certification required; ability to perform intraoperative TEE exams
Licensure: Active Florida medical license and DEA required prior to presentation
Board Status: Board Certified in Anesthesiology
Certifications:
BLS, ACLS, PALS
Procedural
Skills:
Proficiency with arterial lines, central venous catheters, pulmonary artery catheters, and regional anesthesia techniques
Compliance: 100% clean file required; no clinical or criminal issues, including pending cases
Affiliations: Fewer than 5 current affiliations
Site Eligibility: Must not have worked at this site or affiliated site within the past 24 months
Submission Items: Current CV, skills checklist, and valid driver license required
Interview: Call or Zoom meeting with Site Medical Director or Clinical Leadership required; include best contact number and availability for the next two weeks with submission
Responsibilities
Provide perioperative anesthesia care for cardiothoracic cases including CABG, valve replacements, aortic surgery, advanced EP ablations, and Watchman procedures
Perform and interpret intraoperative transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) for approximately 25–30 cardiac cases per month
Deliver comprehensive perioperative management across additional services: general surgery, orthopedics, GI, robotics, OB (C-sections required), radiology, endoscopy, ophthalmology, plastics, ENT, and neurosurgery
Function independently and within a collaborative care team model; supervise and collaborate with CRNAs as needed
Participate in call rotation, including MD-only weekend coverage when scheduled
Document efficiently and accurately in Epic EMR; maintain high-quality medical records and billing documentation
Adhere to facility policies, credentialing standards, and evidence-based clinical practice guidelines
