Thermal Engineer
Supermicro is seeking a Senior Power Supply Design Engineer who can lead the product design, review, and validation of server power supply and related products. The ideal engineer will not just lead a team, but will be a hands-on, and shall have 5+ years ITE server power supply design experiences, cover PFC, flyback, LLC, phase shift, power sharing, OringFET applications in mass production with records.
This individual will be required to work cross-department and assist product managers as needed in product design and development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Thermal Designer will be responsible for developing all aspects of the thermal design and packaging of selected products. Make mechanical design more precisely before sampling or tooling, directly communicate with vendors to improve design in advance Execute design changes, cost reductions, manufacturing methods improvements. Solve thermal and DFM issue. Design liquid-cooled PSU Thermal design and Mechanical design review for new and existent projects Thermal simulation, and improvement for new and existent projects Mechanical simulation and design improvements.
Propose conceptual design packaging and mechanical Design/thermal simulation to be included in technical proposal
Qualifications:
7+ years' experience in engineering role or related experience 7+ years 3-D solid modeling and drafting experience in Creo Experience in thermal simulation tool (FloTHERM, XT or Icepak) Analytical and problem solving skills Liquid cooling skills
