We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering Development Program (EDP)—a rotational program designed to accelerate professional growth and build technical and leadership capabilities. As a part of the EDP, you will complete three rotational assignments that span various functions, enabling you to develop a broad engineering foundation and prepare for future leadership opportunities.
In this role, you will play a critical part in the design and development of next-generation military exhaust systems or combustors.
As a Mechanical Designer, you will work onsite and collaborate cross-functionally as part of an Integrated Product Team (IPT), including specialists in project management, structural engineering, aero-thermal analysis, and product definition. You will contribute to the design, analysis, and delivery of advanced engine hardware to support development engine testing.
What You Will Do
- Participate in rotational assignments to gain technical depth and leadership skills through the EDP.
- Design and develop military exhaust components, with an emphasis on performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary IPT members to deliver integrated hardware solutions.
- Support validation and testing activities for development engines.
- Apply engineering principles to solve complex mechanical challenges in high-temperature environments.
What You Will Learn
- This position is a part of our Engineering Development Program (EDP). EDP participants will complete three to four rotations to build technical breadth and leadership abilities before graduating from the program.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date.
- Experience with CAD (Siemens NX or Solidworks).
- Minimum 3.0 Cumulative GPA
Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience with gas turbine exhaust, augmenter systems, or combustors.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated communication and collaboration capabilities in a team.
- Ability to work onsite and interface with hands-on engineering and testing teams.
- Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.
