Nuclear Planner Scheduler

Duration: 12+ months contract with potential for FTE conversion

The Nuclear Planner Scheduler is a critical role responsible for the strategic planning, sequencing/scheduling, and documentation of projects, and operational work within a nuclear power plant. This role interfaces with various plant departments to ensure the timely completion of tasks while adhering to safety protocols, regulatory requirements, and operational schedules. Employees in this role will attend Site/ Fleet Online/Outage and other meetings, as required, representing the department.

Responsibilities:
  • Plans and organizes projects activities for plant equipment and systems
  • Creates clear and concise work instructions that are sequenced in a logical, efficient manner
  • Ensures work instructions are performed in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
  • Reviews and interprets Engineering Change implementation requirements
  • As required, conducts field walkdowns to identify and analyze corrective issues, modification, and surveillance activities
  • Coordinates with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and support departments on work instruction requirements
  • Supports required testing of updates to new and existing planning and scheduling applications
  • As required, supports all of the Client nuclear sites
  • As required, takes on lead planner role
  • Provides mentorship to junior planner schedulers
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Experience:
  • Planner assists in the design of planned work and design change packages. Conducts field walkdowns to identify and analyze corrective and preventative maintenance, modification and surveillance activities.
  • Defines procedures, drawings, equipment and materials required to perform planned work packages.
  • Acts as liaison with engineering department and/or vendors to coordinate activities.
  • Develops work standards to support work packages. May provide guidance to more junior system planners or contractors to develop detailed elements of overall packages.
  • Is responsible for the development of computerized critical-path schedules for day-to-day maintenance activities as well as for refueling and maintenance outages.
  • Prepares and analyzes daily work schedules to optimize equipment availability and Client usage; recommends appropriate modifications.
  • Publishes daily work schedules and monitors progress.
  • Documents schedule problems, maintains statistics and performs trend analysis.
  • May provide guidance to nonexempt employees as assigned.
Education:
  • Associate degree or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Nuclear, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
