Instrumentation Technician

Work hands-on with turbine engines and advanced propulsion systems. Install the sensors. Run the data. Own the build.

We're hiring an Instrumentation Technician to support cutting-edge gas turbine and propulsion testing in a highly technical R&D environment.

This role is ideal for someone who has experience installing sensors on engines, turbo machinery, or even rocket systems and thrives in a precision-driven, hands-on setting.

If you've worked with thermocouples, strain gauges, or pressure systems (hypo tubing) then this is a strong fit.

What You'll Be Doing

+ Install instrumentation directly onto gas turbine engines and test hardware

+ Primary focus on:

+ Thermocouples

+ Strain gauges

+ Hypotubing / pressure sensor systems

+ Perform sensor wiring, routing, and harness fabrication with high attention to detail

+ Support installation of dynamic pressure sensors and high-precision components

+ Use tools like multimeters and oscilloscopes for troubleshooting and validation

+ Perform calibration of instrumentation and test equipment

+ Execute clean, reliable installs including:

+ Routing and securing wiring

+ Tack welding when needed

+ Protecting sensitive components (some valued at $50K+)

+ Verify signal integrity and system readiness before test

+ Troubleshoot real-time issues during test events

+ Support DAQ system integration and test setup

Must-Have Experience

+ Hands-on instrumentation installation experience

+ Direct experience with:

+ Thermocouples

+ Strain gauges

+ Hypotubing / pressure instrumentation

+ Experience working on:

+ Gas turbine engines, turbo machinery, OR rocket/propulsion systems

+ Strong skills in sensor wiring, routing, and harness installation

+ Experience using multimeters (oscilloscopes a plus)

+ Ability to work with high-value, precision components

+ US Persons required

Nice to Have

+ Experience in R&D, lab, or test environments

+ Experience supporting engine test or propulsion testing

+

Experience with dynamic pressure / high-speed data collection systems

+ Basic tack welding capability

+ Familiarity with DAQ systems

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jupiter, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
