Principle Duties

  • Regulatory Compliance:
    Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable safety and environmental regulations.
  • Safety Leadership:
    Develop, implement, and monitor safety policies, procedures, and training programs.
  • Risk Management:

    Conduct hazard assessments, audits, and inspections to identify risks and implement corrective actions.
  • Incident Response:
    Lead investigations of accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions; prepare reports and corrective measures.
  • Environmental Oversight:
    Manage waste disposal, chemical handling, and environmental sustainability initiatives.
  • Employee Engagement:
    Provide training, coaching, and communication to reinforce EH&S practices across all departments.
  • Documentation:
    Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training, and compliance reports.
  • Collaboration:

    Work closely with department leads and management to integrate EH&S practices into daily operations.
  • Perform other Duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications / Experience
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience:

    Minimum 5 years of EH&S experience in manufacturing, industrial, or related environments.
  • Certifications:

    OSHA 30, CSP, or equivalent certifications strongly preferred.
  • Skills:

    Strong knowledge of safety regulations, excellent communication skills, and ability to train and influence employees at all levels.
  • Technical Proficiency:
    Familiarity with safety management systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.

    Skills:

    EHS Managers need strong analytical skills to assess risks, analyze safety data, and make decisions based on their findings. Identifying patterns and trends in detailed and complex data can assist in developing strategies to improve safety and compliance.

    Ability to identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Communication

    Skills:

    Effective written and verbal communication skills are vital as EHS Managers need to convey complex information clearly and concisely to individuals at all levels within an organization and ensure understanding and compliance.

    Strong analytical skills to assess risks and recommend practical solutions.
  • Leadership:
    Ability to influence and promote a culture of safety across the organization.
  • Adaptability:
    Flexibility to respond to changing regulations and operational needs.
  • Organizational

    Skills:

    Managing multiple tasks, projects, and deadlines requires excellent organizational skills, ensuring that all aspects of EHS management are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Technical Proficiency:
    Use various software tools for data analysis, reporting, and documentation. Proficiency in using these tools and an understanding of the technical aspects of facilities and operations are important.
