Coordinate the order processing and replenishment stocking functions, ensuring proper shipment of smaller quantity items to Petco stores. Provide daily functional guidance and instruction to Pickers in the small item zones and carousel area. This job is composed of a variety of specialized tasks that are similar in nature. Though general operating procedures cover most tasks, questions are referred to the supervisor as needed.
This is a safety sensitive position that requires drug testing.
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
- Interact professionally and effectively through verbal and written communication with all professional contacts.
- Analyze data and recommend an appropriate course of action.
- Assign daily picking documents to Pickers and provide instruction, guidance and follow‑up.
- Conduct assignment of radio frequency computer system and daily check‑in/out process, determine when repairs are necessary and prepare arrangements.
- Track status of orders to be filled and ensure timely replenishments to the pick locations when required; determine inventory adjustments necessary for complete order filling.
- Complete timekeeping and productivity reporting for department employees.
- Observe and promote established safety procedures.
- Assist in quarterly and annual inventories.
- Special projects as assigned.
General instruction is provided on some, but not all tasks to be completed and work is periodically checked upon completion. Non‑routine tasks may be assigned which may last from one to several days without direct supervisory direction or guidance.
Supervisory ResponsibilityWill provide daily functional guidance to other employees, including assignment delegation and instruction. In addition, the supervisor may solicit input towards the performance evaluations of co‑workers.
EducationThe minimum educational background of an applicant to this position is a high school diploma or its equivalent (GED). Basic math proficiency and a good understanding of computers are also required.
ExperienceBecause the nature of this position requires the supervision of others, one to two years of previous warehouse experience, including a working knowledge of general warehouse forklifting (forklift, pallet jack, etc.) are required.
Work EnvironmentThe duties of this position are performed in a warehouse environment the nature of which entails exposure to heat, cold, dirt, dust, fumes and/or noise. The majority of job duties are performed indoors, where the risk of injury should not be overlooked.
ContactsContacts are primarily with the immediate supervisor and employees within the warehouse and generally involve the routine exchange of information.
