Job Overview

The M ZB Resource Planning Department of the P Operations Planning & Construction Management Division at Hawaiian Electric Company is seeking a Resource Planner I (Professional). This role focuses on providing technical and analytical support to the Transmission & Distribution Operations division, particularly in evaluating contractor invoices, managing SAP databases and field inspections, and ensuring efficient crew scheduling.

Job Function

Provides technical and analytical support for contractor invoice evaluation, SAP database and field inspection management, TECO work order completion, and maximizes T&D crew daily schedules with compliance to safety, regulatory, and legal requirements.

Essential Functions
  • Plans, schedules, and coordinates customer service installations, maintaining and updating the schedule to ensure timely completion. Collaborates with multiple internal and external parties to ensure safe and efficient work completion.
  • Manages the end‑to‑end Service Entry Sheet process for resource planners, aligning contractor payments with Finance and Business Close standards and partnering cross‑functionally with Purchasing and Resource Planning.
  • Ensures timely and accurate closure of field work orders in SAP, validating completed activities, resolving data discrepancies, and coordinating with field personnel and other departments for invoicing and financial closure.
  • Develops and maintains data reporting systems and dashboards across platforms (e.g., T&D Packages SharePoint and SAP), analyzing and tracking field inspection data to generate actionable performance insights.
  • Leverages data analytics to assess job performance trends (scheduled, completed, and cancelled) to drive operational efficiency and cost reduction, and presents cost studies and performance dashboards.
  • Participates in company emergency response activities as assigned, including preparation for such responses.
Basic Qualifications Knowledge Requirements
  • Thorough knowledge of business office procedures and methods for a medium‑size organization.
  • Experience in construction or related industry.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical utility or similar industry.
  • Familiarity with or willingness to learn construction drawings and standards.
  • Basic knowledge of best practices in planning, scheduling, and coordinating work across multiple areas.
  • Familiarity with applicable state and federal regulations, permits, laws, and codes.
  • Knowledge of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance processes, inventory control, and safety regulations.
  • Basic knowledge of estimating, planning, or scheduling construction, maintenance, or operations activities.
  • Working knowledge of personal computers and related software applications such as spreadsheets and word processing.
  • Working knowledge of electrical utility transmission and distribution system facilities and equipment, acceptable work practices, and safety requirements.
