Senior Construction Project Manager

A large electric utility in Hawaii is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to oversee transmission and distribution (T&D) projects across the islands. This individual will manage on-site electrical construction work — including underground and overhead distribution, underground residential developments, and substation projects — ensuring all activities meet design, safety, and schedule requirements.

The Construction Project Manager will serve as the utility’s on-site representative
, coordinating with contractors, resolving field challenges, reviewing project packages for constructability, and driving safe, efficient project execution. This role involves active leadership in the field, fostering communication among crews and departments, and upholding company safety and quality standards.

• Direct and monitor on-site contracted T&D electrical work for compliance with design, safety, and scheduling requirements.
• Serve as the primary contact for project-related inquiries and contractor performance.
• Coordinate and plan electrical clearances, hold-offs, and limited hold-offs for assigned projects.
• Review and advise on construction methods, bids, and contract packages to enhance constructability and efficiency.
• Oversee contractor invoicing, cost tracking, and project documentation.
• Lead regular safety, progress, and training meetings to promote team collaboration and performance.

• 7+ years of experience in T&D electrical construction (overhead, underground, and/or substation).
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA

  , and Hawaii construction laws

• Proven ability to manage contractors, budgets, and project schedules across multiple sites.
• Skilled in communication, leadership, and problem-solving within complex field environments.
• Valid State of Hawaii driver’s license (or ability to obtain).
• Journeyman (T&D) certification is a plus.
