Educational Assistant I, II, III – Kalihi Uka Elementary

Full‑time – Hawaii

This position supports classroom instruction and student services as a paraprofessional. Eligibility is limited to Educational Assistant III levels, though lower levels may be considered if needed.

• Educational Assistant I (SR‑10): $3,019.78 per month
• Educational Assistant II (SR‑12): $3,260.76 per month
• Educational Assistant III (SR‑14): $3,526.98 per month

• Perform academic and non‑academic instructional tasks independently within the classroom.
• Provide paraprofessional support to students with disabilities and assist teachers in delivering educational and behavioral interventions.
• Deliver academic, social, vocational, and daily living instruction to students with disabilities in school or community settings.
• Serve as a paraprofessional assistant in counseling support services and activities for identified students; participate in the school support team.

• High‑school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• At least 48 semester credits of baccalaureate‑level courses, including 3 credits in math and 3 in English; OR an Associate in Arts/Science with 48 baccalaureate‑level credits; OR successful completion of the Para Pro Assessment (score 459+).
• Experience:
  
  General experience of 0 years for level I, 1 year for levels II & III;
  Specialized experience of 0 years for level I, 1 year for level II and III.
• Current, valid driver’s license (for some positions).
• Ability to lift up to 65 pounds; ability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds with assistance (for some positions).

• Certificate of Completion in Child Services or related program = 0.5 year General Experience.
• Associate in Science with practicum = 0.5 year General Experience; with practicum = 0.5 year General & Specialized Experience.
• Associate in Science without practicum = 0.5 year General Experience.
• Bachelor’s degree (non‑education): 0.5 year General Experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education or equivalent: all General & Specialized Experience.
