Overview
Recruitment Number 26-014LM, Capital Improvement Project Coordinator, SR-26D ($6,535 per month) to SR-26L ($8,945 per month), Honolulu, Oahu. The starting salary may be at a rate between the minimum to maximum salary range listed above, based on qualifications.

The Capital Improvement Project Coordinator is responsible for the overall control and coordination of all Judiciary capital improvement projects proposed to and authorized by the Legislature; reviews proposed rental and lease agreements for all Judiciary facilities statewide and activities concerned with the maintenance, repair, alteration and improvement of statewide Judiciary buildings;
initiates and monitors the procurement and execution of contracts for all facility leases, alterations and capital improvement projects; and performs other duties as required.
- Oversee and coordinate all Judiciary capital improvement projects proposed to and authorized by the Legislature.
- Review proposed rental and lease agreements for Judiciary facilities statewide.
- Oversee activities related to maintenance, repair, alteration, and improvement of statewide Judiciary buildings.
- Initiate and monitor procurement and execution of contracts for facility leases, alterations, and capital improvement projects.
- Perform other duties as required.
Education Requirement:
Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university with a major in architecture, engineering, or a related field.
Applicants must have five (5) years of progressively responsible professional experience in one or a combination of the types below:
At least one (1) year of the required five (5) years of Specialized Experience must have been in the area of construction administration or related project management which demonstrated knowledge of estimating, budgeting, and bidding; construction cost management; project controls including work breakdown structure, scheduling, and staffing plan; project dispute resolution; and/or construction procurement and construction contract administration issues and procedures.
AllowableSubstitutions
1. Completion of thirty (30) semester credits of graduate study in one or a combination of architecture or engineering Master’s degree programs from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one (1) year of Specialized Experience.
2. Possession of a valid license as a professional architect or engineer by the Hawaii State Board of Professional Engineers, Architects, Surveyors, Landscape Architects may be substituted for three (3) years of Specialized Experience. Applicants who possess an out-of-state professional license must obtain a State of Hawaii license prior to appointment.
License RequirementA current and valid driver’s license to operate a motor vehicle is required.
