Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Kahului, HI for a Chief Estimator. The Chief Estimator will oversee and manage the estimation of electrical construction projects, including reviewing project plans, preparing cost estimates, analyzing labor and material requirements, and developing competitive bids. The role requires collaboration with project managers, suppliers, and clients, as well as leadership in guiding and mentoring the estimating team.

The Chief Estimator will also be responsible for maintaining up-to-date knowledge of market trends, costs, and best practices within the industry.

Qualifications
  • Proficiency in estimation, cost analysis, and budgeting for electrical construction projects
  • Strong leadership and team management skills to develop and motivate estimating teams
  • Experience with reviewing project specifications, blueprints, and technical plans
  • Proficient understanding of electrical systems, materials, and industry codes
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for client and team interactions
  • Proficiency with industry-specific software and tools, including estimation software
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical estimation or a similar role
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Familiarity with the electrical contracting industry on the islands is a plus
