STEM Program Internship – AES Hawai‘i. The role is a part‑time (30hrs/week) summer internship that is primarily remote but requires occasional onsite meetings on O’ahu. Interns must be based on O’ahu for the entire duration of the internship and are expected to speak English.
Principal Role & Responsibilities- Gain exposure to “green” career opportunities within the renewable energy sector and the corporate environment in Hawai‘i and beyond.
- Support various teams, including the Hawaiʻi Market, project development, permitting, and community relations.
- Participate in skill‑building opportunities and internal/external stakeholder outreach.
- Attend on‑site project tours and assist with hands‑on work as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Currently enrolled in or graduated within the last six months from a college/university program related to business, engineering, environmental studies, planning, or a related field (local Hawai‘i residents preferred).
- Experience or demonstrated interest in the renewable energy industry.
- Computer literate and proficient with Microsoft applications.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail‑oriented with the ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast‑paced, and changing environment.
- Team player with collaborative skills.
- Compensation: $21.00–$30.18 per hour, with base pay varying by location, experience, and job‑related skills. Annual bonus and standard benefits apply.
- Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, 401(k) eligibility, and paid time off (vacation, sick leave, and parental leave).
- Relocation is not available for this position.
- Intern must remain on O’ahu for the entire duration of the internship.
