The immediate vacancy is located in Downtown and is with the Department of Human Resources Development, Employee Relations Division.

This recruitment is being conducted under the Operation Hire Hawaii (OH-HI) project, a targeted outreach initiative featuring an expedited hiring process, fast‑tracking qualified applicants into job opportunities throughout Hawai’i.

• Human Resources Specialist IV - $5,527 to $6,728 per month (SR-22, Step D to I)

Note:

The starting monthly salary for the Human Resources Specialist II is at the minimum rate of pay, Step

D. For the Human Resources Specialist III and IV, hiring rates will be based on availability of funds, the applicant's qualifications, and other relevant factors.

Serves in a trainee capacity, receiving formal and on‑the‑job training in work processes, precedent situations, working relationships with other functions/agencies, regulations, contracts and reference materials of increasing complexity and integration with other functional areas of human resources management; performs a variety of basic and routine assignments consistent with training status; and performs other related duties as assigned.

Performs moderately difficult work of a technical nature in one or more of the functional areas of human resources management (i.e., Classification and Pay;
Recruitment, Examination and Placement;
Training and Employee Management Training; Human Resources Administration Services; and Labor Relations); and performs other related duties as assigned.

Performs human resources assignments which regularly encompass complex problems combined with the responsibility for management advisory service; and performs other related duties as assigned.

Basic Education/

Experience:

A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited four‑year college or university.
