JMark Services Inc. is seeking a Logistics Management Specialist (JOPES Specialist) to join our mission-focused team supporting USINDOPACOM operations at Camp Smith.
This position is ideal for a logistics professional who thrives in dynamic environments and understands the importance of accuracy, adaptability, and operational excellence in global defense operations.
As the JOPES Specialist, you will oversee the coordination and execution of deployment, redeployment, and rotation of forces using the Joint Operation Planning and Execution System (JOPES). You'll serve as a subject-matter expert on automated planning systems, providing technical and strategic insight that supports the Department of Defense (DoD) in contingency and crisis action planning.
Key ResponsibilitiesDeployment Coordination:
Lead deployment, redeployment, and rotation of forces; ensure all documentation and data accuracy within JOPES.Technical Expertise:
Maintain advanced knowledge of JOPES databases, related systems, command relationships, directives, and procedures.Subject-Matter Authority:
Serve as JMark's SME for automated planning and deployment execution systems.Process Optimization:
Identify and implement improvements to command control procedures and planning methodologies.Global Force Management:
Analyze and manage rotational and emergent requirements through global force management systems.Joint Planning Support:
Participate in joint planning groups and operational teams; review and analyze programs, guidance, and systems administration.Technical Advisory:
Provide expert guidance to internal and external functional teams on movement requirements, planning, and reporting.Systems Development:
Support the development of software and data utilities to meet mission-specific needs.Technology Assessment:
Evaluate and advise on evolving technologies, serving as SME for next-generation GCCS and JOPES systems as they are developed, tested, and fielded.Additional Duties:
Execute other mission-critical tasks as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in logistics, operations, information systems, or a related discipline
5+ years of experience in military operations planning or deployment/redeployment coordination
Proven expertise with Joint Operation Planning and Execution System (JOPES)
Strong understanding of DoD contingency and crisis action planning
Experience with Global Force Management (GFM) systems
Proficiency in database management and automated data processing (ADP)
Excellent written, verbal, and analytical communication skills
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively on cross-functional and joint operational teams
U.S. citizenship (required for clearance eligibility)
Master's degree in logistics, operations, or information systems
Experience supporting joint or component command operations
Familiarity with Global Command and Control Systems (GCCS)
Experience developing or assessing software applications for planning systems
Background in process improvement within DoD or government environments
Active Secret or higher security clearance
Knowledge of rotational and emergent requirement management in JOPES
Experience with systems testing and fielding within defense operations
