Position Overview:The Director of Communications (COM) serves as the primary architect of IMUA's brand voice, managing how information flows externally to the public. Director of Communications will lead the development and execution of innovative marketing strategies that enhance the visibility and impact of IMUA Family Services. This role will focus on leveraging modern technology and social media platforms to engage our community, raise awareness of our programs, and drive fundraising efforts.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of digital marketing trends, excellent communication skills, and a passion for our mission.
Salary based on Experience
Key Responsibilities Strategic Marketing Planning- Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies that align with the CEO and organization’s goals and objectives.
- Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and target audiences for IMUA Family Services.
- Oversee the organization’s digital marketing efforts, including website management, email marketing, and social media campaigns.
- Create engaging content for various platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, Linked In, etc.) to increase brand awareness and community engagement.
- Monitor and analyze social media metrics to assess campaign effectiveness and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Ensure consistent branding and messaging across all marketing materials and communications.
- Develop promotional materials with program leadership around programs, services and outreach, including brochures, newsletters, and press releases, to effectively communicate the organization’s mission and programs.
- Foster relationships with community partners, stakeholders, sponsors and media outlets to promote IMUA Family Services and its initiatives.
- Organize and participate in community events, workshops, and outreach activities to raise awareness and support for the organization.
- Collaborate with the development team to create marketing materials for fundraising campaigns and events.
- Assist in the planning and execution of fundraising events, ensuring effective promotion and community involvement.
- Supervise and mentor marketing staff and volunteers, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment.
- Provide training and support to team members in digital marketing tools and best practices.
- Develop and manage the marketing budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources to achieve marketing goals.
- Track and report on marketing expenditures and return on investment (ROI) for campaigns.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field;
Master’s degree preferred. - Minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing, with a focus on digital marketing and social media strategies, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
- Strong understanding of current marketing trends, tools, and technologies, including SEO, PPC, email marketing, and analytics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and engage diverse audiences.
- Proven experience in managing social media platforms and creating engaging content.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
