Overall Purpose of the PositionA Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is a nurse that has graduated from an accredited nursing program and is licensed as an LPN by the State of Hawaii. The LPN uses their training to perform quality nursing services for the care and treatment of patients in the offices.
MajorJob Responsibilities
- 1. Performs general nursing duties (e.g., escorting the patient to exam room, preparing patient for examination, recording vital signs, observing symptoms, eliciting information and reporting to provider as necessary; carries out or assists with procedures/treatments directed by provider). 20%
- 2. Prepares patient records before visits, ensures all reports are available; maintains accurate record of medications, injections, treatments administered; checks record after exam; completes requisitions; makes appointments with other departments or offices as indicated. 20%
- 3. Directs and supervises other health care personnel in clinic, delegating duties within scope of practice. 20%
- 4. Screens phone calls to provider to determine appointment need; calls patients to relay instructions or advice; performs patient teaching/nursing checks per provider guidelines. 15%
- 5. Assists in other offices when directed by Director of Nursing or designee; performs additional tasks/duties as directed by provider or nurse in charge. 10%
- 6. Maintains or oversees sanitary conditions in office; orders medical and clerical supplies as required. 5%
- 7. All other miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned. 5%
- 8. Demonstrates quality work, completes assignments timely, makes decisions within authority limits; adheres to company policies. 2.5%
- 9. Maintains time and attendance standards consistent with company policy. 2.5%
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing;
Licensure as an LPN in the State of Hawaii required;
Active/unexpired CPR/BLS Card required.
- Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously
- Works overtime as needed
- Updates education on own as necessary
- Knows and uses principles of good body mechanics
- Demonstrates effective communication and telephone skills
- Computer literacy preferred
Medical equipment – e.g., nebulizer, pulse oximetry, EKG machine, glucometer, and other equipment specific to area/clinic of primary practice.

- Willingly participates as a member of the nursing team
- Possesses effective organizational skills and maintains a “can‑do” attitude
Walking (85%); sitting (15%); lifts 25 lbs. with occasional heavier loads.
Hourly RateLPN starting at $26.06 / MA starting at $23.72 / CA starting at $19.58; based on experience.
