Roselani, a wonderful senior living community, is looking to fill an LPN position. We offer competitive pay, a great work environment, and friendly staff. Applicants should have senior living experience or similar healthcare experience, work well with others, and be dependable. Your job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Responsible for the supervision of team members assigned to you and, working together, provide the services of your department to each resident of The Assisted Living Community.
- All activities must maintain a holistic perspective of service and total care of all residents. Accountable to supervise and monitor the performance of each team member under your supervision to ensure care and services to each resident are delivered continuously, predictably, and efficiently.
- Coordinate and communicate with all other team members of The Assisted Living Community in maintaining a holistic perspective of service and care.
- Lead by example and ensure that the programs and services you lead maximize each resident’s quality of life, identity, interests, abilities and preferences.
- Provide all resident care—personal, nursing, restorative, or rehabilitative—which is beyond the skills of the Resident Assistants under your supervision or which is restricted by law to those licensed to practice nursing in the state in which the community is located.
- Report emergencies to the Care Coordinator, provide guidance or discipline beyond your capability, and report observable changes in residents’ behavior or health status that would indicate a change in their care plan.
- Participate in all required training, orientation, meetings and programs offered by the employer.
- Personally get to know the residents by communicating with other team members and through direct conversation with residents.
- Participate in formal and informal discussions to identify concerns and confirm recommended actions that reinforce each resident’s full potential to live independently and age in place gracefully.
- Coordinate and communicate with all other team members in maintaining a holistic perspective of care for each resident.
- Current licensure to practice nursing as a licensed practical nurse in the state of employment.
- If a graduate of an accredited school prior to 1965, the LPN must have a certificate providing completion of a course in medication.
- Possess knowledge of and skill in nursing techniques, understanding the ill, following oral and written directions, keeping adequate records.
- Possess good physical and mental health.
- Possess good visual and aural acuity to detect changes in residents’ condition.
- Assume responsibility for professional growth and development.
- Demonstrate loyalty to this community.
- Provide leadership and supervisory skills.
- Be a positive and cooperative team player with peers and subordinates.
Physical Requirements
- Lift up to 10 lbs:
Frequently required when lifting resident medical files and supplies weighing approximately 5 to 10 lbs. - Lift 11 to 25 lbs:
Constantly required when stocking medical supplies up to 15 lbs. - Occasionally may be required when carrying a tray filled with treatment remedies.
- Lift 26 to 50 lbs:
Occasionally required to transfer residents (100+ lbs. between two nurses). Correct use of a transfer belt is required to avoid injury to the resident or nurse. - Lift over 50 lbs:
Occasionally required to transfer a larger resident with assistance of another staff member. - Carry up to 10 lbs:
Occasionally required when carrying resident medical files and supplies weighing approximately 5 to 10 lbs. - Carry 11 to 25 lbs:
Occasionally may occur during coursework when stocking medical supplies or medication/treatment cart. - Carry 26 to 50 lbs:
Not required for carrying. - Carry over 50 lbs:
Not required for carrying. (Carts are available for heavier lifting when transporting items.) - Reach above shoulder height:
