Location:

Hale Makua Health Services is a Maui based non-profit that improves the well-being of those in its care through compassionate personalized health services. We are devoted to helping Maui's Elders live their best lives. Hale Makua's Kahului location is a 254-bed nursing facility.

The Position:

We're looking for a passionate Infection Preventionist / RN to oversee the facility infection control program.

Responsibilities include:

• Ensures facility compliance with all regulatory requirements related to education, quality improvement and infection control.

• Aggregates, analyzes and investigates patterns of infection in the facility. Implements plan of correction for identified problems and presents at the QAA Committee.
• Oversees employee health issues such as physicals, including the administration of PPD tests and immunizations.

• Conducts outbreak investigation and initiate control measures. Reports communicable diseases to the state as required by law.

Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Registered Nurse with the State of Hawaii Board of Nursing.
• Two years of experience in long-term care preferred.
• Ability to learn the use of quality improvement methods and materials required.

• Current and valid 2 Step TB clearance and health review (can be done in-house).
• First Aid and CPR preferred. (can be done in-house).
