Job Summary
The Quality Engineer is responsible for maintaining the highest level of quality within the organization. The Quality Engineer will facilitate organizational compliance with all quality policies and procedures, as well as ensure materials and products comply with applicable regulations, specifications, and customer requirements. The Quality Engineer is the liaison for Quality to all front-line employees.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following:
Supplier Quality
- Serve as back-up to the Logistics Manager in managing problem solving and root cause analysis activities with suppliers to eliminate recurrence of non‐conforming product.
Management Review
- Perform quality and performance data analysis through the BHH CASS program; provide to management team to support Business/Management Review meetings.
Corrective/Preventive Action
- Provide coaching and expertise of CAPA/RCCA methodologies to include but not limited to; 5W2H, 5 Whys, Ishikawa, and factor tree analysis.
- Lead activities with stakeholders for root cause analysis, incident investigation, and other quality and risk management tools to investigate trends and develop corrective and preventive action plans.
- Perform verification of effectiveness to ensure implementation and effectiveness of corrective and preventive action plans .
Quality Systems Audits
- Create and manage Quality audit plans. Schedule and assign Quality Audits.
- Review and audit internal processes, procedures, and products to ensure continued compliance with applicable regulations and standards (ISO
9001/AS9100, FAA, DOD)
Document Control
- Guide operational departments as needed with technical creation, review, and approval of QMS documents (e.g., procedures, work instructions, forms)
Training
- Provide education and guidance as needed to management and staff for Quality Systems processes, quality assurance activities, and compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
- Conduct new hire and ongoing Quality Systems training (ISO
9001/AS9100) - Identify training needs for the Quality team and organize both internal and 3rd party training courses.
- Responsible for completion of required training related to QE position.
Other

- Indicate the percentage of time spent traveling < 5%
Subject to applicable laws and Air Method’s policies, regular attendance is an essential function of the position. All employees must follow Air Methods’ and Blue Hawaiian employment practices and policies.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications

Education & Experience
- Associate's degree in a technical field; or 2 years related experience and/or training in manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- BS in management, technical, or related field, or demonstrated relevant and equivalent industry experience preferred OR
- Minimum 3-5 years’ related experience in quality systems or continuous improvement related capacity
- Strong knowledge and understanding of FAA conformity/airworthiness regulations and procedures a plus
- Quality/supplier auditing experience a plus
- Previous management experience a plus

- Must have excellent organization skills and be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Self-starter who can work independently without constant oversight to support the strategic organizational vision.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a high degree of collaboration at all levels
- Strong business acumen with the ability to understand business situations, strategies, theory, processes, management, budgeting, and operations
- Demonstrates high critical thinking and reasoning skills and strong attention to detail while working in a fast-paced environment that requires ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
Computer Skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio, Access, Power BI, Smartsheet, and Share Point
- Previous experience with database/software configuration, ERP, etc.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- ASQ-CQE Preferred
- Six Sigma Certification a plus
