Role: Airport Law Enforcement Officer - Armed Patrol (Kahului, HI). You will serve and safeguard the airport, its facilities, travelers, and airport operations. You will interact with the public, provide outstanding customer service, and communicate clearly while upholding our values of teamwork, integrity, and putting people first.
Position Type: Part Time - Morning
Pay Rate: $28.86 / Hour with an hourly bonus of $3.58. Premium paid shall be based on the position actually worked by the employee.

Minimum QualificationsTo be considered, all applicants must meet the following criteria:
- 2+ years of professional law enforcement experience in the U.S. after graduating from a certified law enforcement academy (Federal, State, or County level).
- Graduate of a Law Enforcement or Military Police Training Program or equivalent (must provide credentials).
- Valid Driver's License.
- Law Enforcement Officer License.
- Age 22+.
- Certified State law enforcement recruit training.
- Certified County law enforcement recruit training.
- Federal law enforcement training.
- Programs approved by the Director.
- No felony convictions or convictions for abuse of a household member under the Lautenberg Amendment, or documented truthfulness infractions violating Giglio/Henthorn for federal impeachment proceedings.
Notes: A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions.
Knowledge and Skills Required- Must be able to supervise contractor personnel and work effectively with airport management, tenants, other law enforcement agencies, and the public on matters relating to security disputes, complaints, or performance issues.
- Shall have no record of moral turpitude, domestic violence, untruthfulness, or mental or emotional disorders that may interfere with performance of duties.
- Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
- Exercise sound judgement and render immediate, appropriate decisions under stressful conditions.
- Demonstrate maturity in conduct, behavior, and attitude.
- Take orders, follow instructions, and assume responsibility for one’s actions.
- Show alertness, attentiveness, and professional conduct; recognize, respond, and take appropriate corrective actions to various situations.
- Maintain strong moral character.
- Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, in English.
- Practice courtesy in interpersonal relationships with the public, airport employees, tenants, law enforcement, and security personnel.
- May be required to provide a court appearance for citations issued on behalf of DOTA; contractor will provide replacement staffing for required court attendance.
- Mental and emotional capability to perform all duties required for assigned posts.
- In good physical health and fully capable of performing normal or emergency duties requiring moderate to arduous physical exertion such as standing, walking, patrolling, climbing stairs, running, and self‑defense.
- Perform essential physical tasks, with or without reasonable accommodation, including:
- Lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs. (e.g., fire extinguisher) for a designated distance.
- Assisting in the safe evacuation of individuals, including carrying a small child or providing support to persons with limited mobility.
