Hawaiian Building Maintenance (HBM) has been providing quality service since 1957. We are one of the largest facility service providers in the State of Hawaii. We are seeking a qualified individual with industry experience. Reporting directly to the Chief Building Engineer or the Account Manager-Engineering, the HVAC Maintenance Technician will be tasked with general maintenance and repairs of facility equipment and property structures, as well as grounds maintenance.
Candidates must pass a background check, possess a valid Hawaii driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle, previous hands-on maintenance experience, proficiency in light plumbing, electrical work, HVAC, carpentry, and painting/drywall, all tasks must be performed in accordance with EPA, Hazmat, and OSHA safety regulations. Excellent communication skills and the capability to work independently or collaboratively within a team are crucial.

-Compensation per hour: $21.00
Key Responsibilities- Experience in commercial building maintenance, grounds maintenance or a similar trade is preferred.
- Proficient understanding of fundamental electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general repair techniques.
- Ensure that mechanical equipment and systems are functioning properly and repaired as needed.
- Capability to independently troubleshoot maintenance issues.
- Strong work ethic, dependability, and dedication to providing high-quality service.
- Provide excellent customer service while interacting with co-workers, property managers, vendors, and customers.
- Engage in constant movement, including standing, walking, bending, and stretching throughout shifts.
- Carry, push, pull and lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.).
- Conduct general building maintenance, repairs, and preventative upkeep.
- Troubleshoot and repair issues related to plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, painting, drywall, flooring, and other facility components.
- Complete work orders promptly while adhering to high standards of craftsmanship.
- Perform routine site inspections to identify and address maintenance issues.
- Keep tools, equipment, and work areas safe and organized.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, property management, and customers.
- Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA regulations.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests as needed.
- Maintain detailed records of completed work and materials utilized.
- Valid Hawaii Driver’s License is preferred.
- Background check clearance as part of the hiring process.
- Previous hands-on maintenance experience.
- Proficiency in light plumbing, electrical work, HVAC, carpentry, and painting/drywall.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills and customer service orientation.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
