Truck Driver; CDL A

Position: Truck Driver (CDL A)
Position is for Honsador Lumber - Maui location

POSITION OVERVIEW

Drives truck with capacity of more than 3 tons to transport materials to and from specified destinations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Drives truck to destination in a safe and efficient manner.

* Delivers and off-loads material.

* Collects payment for goods delivered and for delivery charges.

* Maintains truck log according to state and federal regulations.

* Maintains telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions.

* Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water.

* Cleans inside of truck.

* Performs emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, tire chains, and spark plugs.

* Positions blocks and ties rope around items to secure cargo during transit.

* Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

* Must have Hawaii CDL Class A Driver's License

* Detail Oriented

* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

* Must be able to work overtime as needed.

* Applicant must provide a driving abstract and previous CDL A driving experience.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE - High School diploma or GED and one to two years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

SKILLS/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED - Meets all federal and state driver's license regulations. Must have a Commercial Driver License (CDL

A).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS - While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to sit and frequently required to walk and talk or hear.
