Mobile Equipment Master Driver Examiner

Responsibilities

• Test personnel to provide on-the-job training to applicants for operating a variety of fixed and mobile equipment.
• Train selected personnel to operate and maintain equipment.
• Perform unannounced roadside inspections of government-owned vehicles.
• Provide training to DPW personnel on proper operation and operator maintenance.

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• A pre-appointment and annual physical is required.
• Must obtain and maintain a Government operator’s license to drive all vehicles assigned to the unit.
• Must hold a commercial driver’s license (CDL).
• This is a drug testing designated position (TDP) under the Department of the Army Drug-Free Federal Workplace Program.
• Incumbent is required to report for duty during inclement weather, natural disasters, and other emergency situations as directed by the Commander and may be required to remain on duty after the official shift ends.
• This position requires temporary duty travel (TDY) of 10 %.
• This position requires incumbent to obtain and maintain a Master Driver Trainer Certification within 180 days of onboarding.

Experience (paid, unpaid, or volunteer) that demonstrates the ability to safely train and operate vehicles, and instruct personnel on how to drive and repair vehicles. Failure to meet this screening element will result in an ineligible rating.

• Required to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts and carries items that weigh up to 75 pounds and occasionally handles heavier items with assistance.
• Works inside and outside in all types of weather. Work is dirty, dusty, and greasy. Frequently exposed to mud, water, fumes, and possible injuries such as scrapes, burns, infections, and broken bones.
