About This RolePart-time Independent Contractor to be responsible for providing strategic data collection, analysis, and reporting to strengthen Maui County’s early childhood system. This one-year contract (with possible extension) develops reports, and recommendations supporting planning, funding, and policy.
What You’ll Do- Collect, validate, and analyze early childhood data from multiple public sources.
- Analyze ECE enrollment geographically throughout Maui County.
- Analyze child care tuition by geographic area and provider type.
- Evaluate Public Pre-K capacity, enrollment, and utilization.
- Track workforce shortages including ECE teachers, pediatricians, therapists, Early Intervention providers, and related professionals.
- Compile annual TANF and WIC participation for Maui County.
- Develop 5–7 years of historical trend data on child care availability, capacity, enrollment, tuition, subsidies, and utilization.
- Develop dashboards, executive reports, maps, and/or annual report.
- Support grant writing and strategic planning through data analysis.
- Present findings to leadership and community partners.
- Maintain confidentiality and data integrity.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions
- Remote contract position with periodic meetings in Maui County.
Work Hours
- Project-based schedule (approximately 20–30 hours per week).
Equipment Use
- Computer, Microsoft Office, visualization software, and virtual meeting platforms
Must reside in Hawaii - All other resumes not showing residency in Hawaii will not be considered
Skills and Knowledge
- Advanced Excel.
- GIS experience preferred.
- Knowledge of statistics and demographics.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in related field.
- Three years of data analysis experience.
- Early childhood/public policy experience preferred.
