Overview
Senior Accountant. This is predominantly an in‑office position.
Salary and Benefits- Compensation – $80,000 plus incentive compensation program.

Our Kona-based Company was founded in 1850 by Henry Nicholas Greenwell. Over 175 years later, Lanihau focuses primarily on investing in commercial real estate in Hawaii and across the continental United States, as well as land development and ranching in West Hawaii.
Primary Responsibilities- Execute day-to-day accounting for multiple entities and facilitate monthly and year-end close processes
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and maintain the general ledger and supporting documentation
- Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and perform variance/trend analysis in consultation with Controller
- Support multi-entity accounting, including consolidations and intercompany entries
- Implement real estate accounting, including tenant billing, rent collections, and CAM reconciliations
- Track project/development costs and monitor budgets
- Assist with ranch accounting, including inventory and grant tracking
- Prepare schedules and work papers for audits, tax filings, and ownership distributions
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure accurate and timely reporting
- Support the Controller with other duties as appropriate
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- Minimum 5–7 years of accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting. CPA certification a plus.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with multi-entity accounting & property management accounting preferred.
- Coachable. Has the ability and desire to internalize feedback and learn new skillsets and technologies.
- The employee will report directly to the Controller
