Salary: $3,266 to $4,139 per month (SR‑08, Step C to I).
Hiring rates will be based on availability of funds, the applicant’s qualifications, and other relevant factors. Employees appointed to temporary positions may also gain membership in the civil service upon satisfactory completion of an initial probation period of at least six months. If you become a member of the civil service, you become eligible to apply for promotion and transfer opportunities to permanent, as well as other temporary positions.
You may also enjoy other rights and benefits afforded to a permanent employee, with the exception of return rights and placement rights associated with a reduction‑in‑force.
Perform journey level clerical work involving a variety of complex clerical assignments, e.g., those that involve a number of steps/processes and/or referral to a number of different sources and require the use of some judgment to determine appropriate disposition; prioritize work and carry out assignments independently, in accordance with general instructions and established policies and procedures; supervise or participate in moderately complex clerical work;
and perform other related duties as assigned.
To qualify, applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
- Basic Experience
:
Six (6) months of work experience demonstrating knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and arithmetic; the ability to read and understand oral and written instructions; write simply and directly; and compare words and numbers quickly and accurately. - Clerical Experience
:
One (1) year of work experience involving a variety of clerical tasks and demonstrating knowledge of office practices and procedures, and the ability to carry out procedures in clerical work systems and operate various kinds of office equipment and technologies. - Supervisory Aptitude
:
Possession of supervisory aptitude is required for some positions, demonstrated through successful completion of assignments with supervisory responsibilities or aspects of supervision, e.g., by serving as a group or team leader, or through training courses in supervision accompanied by application of supervisory skills in work assignments, and/or favorable appraisals by a supervisor indicating supervisory potential. - Substitutions Allowed

Relevant substitutions as described in the complete Minimum Qualification Requirements will apply. - Keyboarding/Computer Skill
:
Some positions require keyboarding proficiency or use of computers and word processing or other software applications. These positions require the ability to keyboard/type 40 net words per minute with or without reasonable accommodation. - Driver’s License
:
Some positions require possession of a valid driver’s license at the time of appointment.
- Some positions require the ability to lift and carry items of various weights with or without reasonable accommodation.
