Positions are available with the Department of Accounting & General Services in Downtown.
This is the full performance level for building construction inspection work involving a broad range of inspection functions for a variety of construction operations, materials, and methods under varying conditions and requirements.
The duties include inspecting and measuring construction materials, checking methods employed in construction, inspecting the erection of false work and concrete forms, accepting or rejecting concrete forms, construction equipment and materials based on specifications or modifications approved by a higher level inspector, keeping detailed records of work completed and materials used, preparing and submitting routine inspection reports, preparing monthly progress reports concerning the construction project, and performing other related duties as assigned.
Salary: $6,090 to $6,704 per month (SR-19, Step C to I). Salary includes Shortage Category Differential.
QualificationsExperience:
Two (2) years of Journeyman level experience in the building construction trades, demonstrating knowledge of the full range of specialized knowledge, skills, abilities and practices used in such trades, including knowledge of building construction methods and materials and safety requirements and practices, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and sketches.
Experience:
One (1) year of either:
- A. Building construction inspection work experience;
- B. Supervisory work experience, over a force of skilled trades workers in the building construction industry that involved responsibility for interpreting plans and specifications and inspecting the quality of workmanship and materials for adherence to such plans and specifications.
Education:
Work experience that involved tasks demonstrating the ability to read and understand oral and written instructions; write simply and directly; and perform arithmetic computations.
