Job DescriptionPart‑Time Clinical Nursing Faculty – BSN Nursing program, Oahu, Hawaii.
You will mentor students in a real‑world inpatient clinical setting on the island of Oahu, connecting classroom learning and simulations to patient care. Your role bridges classroom concepts with practical application, ensuring students are well‑prepared, confident, and capable of providing high‑quality care.
Scheduling is determined by course needs and clinical specialty. In each 8‑week session, instructors typically work 3–4 consecutive 12‑hour shifts over 1–2 weeks. Dates are session‑specific and not guaranteed for all sessions.
Pediatric Nursing
:
Students demonstrate nursing skills and procedures in an inpatient health center, focusing on family‑centered care for children from infancy through adolescence.
- Implement the College’s philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives.
- Assume responsibility for all autonomous aspects of individual teaching loads.
- Plan clinical experiences and provide direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students.
- Make yourself available to staff at assigned agencies.
- Evaluate and provide documented feedback to students based on course objectives.
- Provide remediation for students as required.
- Maintain current knowledge of agency/clinical policies, procedures, and expectations.
- Develop and post written clinical assignments aligned with student knowledge, skill competency, and learning needs.
- Correct and return homework, quizzes, tests, lab assignments, and clinical paperwork in a timely manner.
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of the College’s programs.
- May teach didactic course content under supervision of the course coordinator.
- Keep the course coordinator informed of all student and agency issues and concerns.
- Collaborate with college administration, staff, and faculty to improve overall operations and student satisfaction.
- Participate in the College Assessment Program, campus retention efforts, and department and campus policies.
- Serve as a professional role model in customer service, collaboration, communication, excellence, dress, attendance, and professionalism.
- Utilize relationship skills for group problem solving, consensus building, and win‑win negotiation.
- Comply with all applicable regulatory rules, standards, and policies.
- Report to the dean or assistant dean; the course coordinator will provide direct oversight.
- Handle related duties as assigned.
- Master’s or doctoral degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution.
- Unencumbered professional nursing license in Hawaii.
- At least two years of recent professional experience in a teaching or instructional capacity as a registered nurse.
- Teaching or precepting experience preferred but not required.
- Genuine passion for nursing, education, and lifelong learning.
- Exceptional subject matter expertise and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Eagerness to serve students and colleagues with passion, respect, and care.
- Sense of responsibility and purpose, with a desire to enrich colleagues, students, and the broader community.
- Hawaii nursing license required before accepting a clinical contract for a session.
Compensation for this position ranges from $1,120 to $7,245 per assignment, adjusted based on factors such as course type, experience, licensure, location, and departmental budgets.
