Position Overview
The 12‑month College and Career Counselor supports students in exploring, planning, and preparing for life after high school. The role helps students understand options and receive guidance toward college, career training, military service, or employment. The Counselor works closely with students, families, counselors, teachers, and administrators to build a school environment where post‑secondary planning is supported, encouraged, and accessible to all students.
Responsibilities- Support students in exploring, planning, and preparing for post‑secondary pathways.
- Provide guidance toward college, career training, military service, or employment.
- Collaborate with students, families, counselors, teachers, and administrators to foster a school environment that encourages post‑secondary planning.
- Bachelor’s Degree required. A teaching license or Emergency Hire Permit is required upon hire.
- Maximum of three years to obtain a valid Hawaii teaching license if hired without completing a Teacher’s Education Program.
- Must enroll in a program to continue employment and demonstrate active pursuit of licensing requirements each year.
