Extended Day Group Leaders

Job Overview

Le Jardin Academy is looking for Extended Day Group Leaders. As part of our Extended Day program, the role of Leader is to support the development of our students socially and emotionally, while delivering a fun and safe recreational program during the After school Program. A High School Diploma and at least six months of experience working with 0–5 year olds in a licensed facility are required.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, 2:15 p.m. – 5:15 p.m. / 6:00 p.m. Pay is hourly, ranging from $16.50 to $22.00.

The role of Extended Day Group Leader will support LJA’s mission, implement summer and/or after‑school programs, model the school‑wide Agreements and the attributes of the IB Learner Profile, exhibit courteous behavior and professionalism, and demonstrate an enjoyment of working with children.

• Plan and implement age‑appropriate lessons and recreational activities
• Maintain classroom management and established routines
• Support student learning during after school
• Supervise students during instructional time, recess, and transitions
• Communicate effectively with the Extended Day team
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs
• Communicate student attendance and behavior to appropriate persons
• Follow all school policies and procedures detailed in the Employee Handbook

Required:

• High School Diploma
• 6 months experience working with 0–5 year olds in a licensed facility

Preferred:

• 2 years of college
• 6 months experience working with 5–12 year olds in a recreational or school facility

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Flexibility and adaptability in classroom environments
• Patience and enthusiasm for working with young learners
• Classroom management skills
• Cultural sensitivity and appreciation for diversity
• Professional demeanor and reliability
• Basic computer skills
