Position Overview
Le Jardin Academy is looking for a Temporary (One Year) Primary School Teacher for the 2026/2027 School Year. Bachelor's Degree is required;
Master’s Degree is preferred. Minimum 3 years of teaching experience required. Knowledge of and/or experience with the International Baccalaureate Programme is a plus. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. No phone calls, please. Please submit a resume and cover letter. Salary Range: $58,126 to $106,415.
- Primary School Classroom Teacher (PK‑5).
- School year: 2026‑2027.
- Work hours:
7:25 a.m. – 3:25 p.m. (with scheduled meetings as needed). All teachers must be in the classroom by 7:30 a.m.

- Model the IB Learner Profile, LJA school values, and meet teacher standards and performance rubric expectations.
- Lead with compassion and foster a positive, caring attitude towards students, parents, and colleagues.
- Collaborate with grade‑level teammates, assistants, specialists, student support and administration to deliver dynamic programming.
- Follow LJA School wide Agreements and school policies (Assessment, Language, Inclusion, Academic Integrity, Student Support Playbook, Professional Development Handbook, Employee Handbook, Primary Division Handbook, Parent/Student Handbook, LJA School wide Agreements).
- Plan, implement and assess student learning using constructivist, transdisciplinary, universal design thinking and the IB curriculum. Maintain accurate student records.
- Conduct parent conferences twice a year (teacher‑led and student‑led) and prepare written report cards twice a year.
- Communicate student progress and concerns via assessment folders and directly as required.
- Participate in school meetings:
Faculty meetings (weekly after school), All Employee Meetings (monthly), Collaboration Meetings with the Dean of Academics (weekly), Learning Support Meetings. - Attend and actively participate in Professional Development Days and required training (e.g., IB training, CPR/First Aid, 16 hours Health & Safety for PK/JK).
- Provide extra assistance to students and follow behavior procedures and referral forms.
- Assist in field trips and extracurricular activities, with appropriate approvals.
- Supervise student duties during recess, lunch and arrivals/dismissal as assigned.
- Participate in school events: parent nights, exhibition, winter concerts, family fun night, artsfest, open houses, admissions testing.
- Support PYP Exhibition as a mentor or expert helper.
- Maintain an emergency substitute folder with schedules, lists, names and activities.
- Report accidents to the school nurse.
- Engage in self‑evaluation and reflections as part of the professional growth process.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience.
- Experience and understanding of the IB Programme (preferred).
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- Arrange for a substitute and notify the Primary Administrative Assistant.
- Provide at least one day’s notice for personal days; advance approval from supervisor required.
- Enter absences into ADP within one week of the absence.
- Regular office work setting.
- Use of hands and fingers, reaching with hands and arms, frequently standing, talking and hearing.
