Kealakehe : Grade 9-12 Special Education Teacher

We are seeking a compassionate, highly organized, and resilient Special Education Teacher to lead our Fully Self-Contained (FSC) classroom. This role is dedicated to supporting students with significant cognitive, adaptive, or secondary disabilities who require a modified curriculum and intensive individualized support to succeed both academically and functionally.

• Valid Special Education license from the Hawaii Teacher Standards Board.

• Special education classroom experience in a K-12 school setting.

• Plan and facilitate Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings.
• Exercise independent and professional judgment in carrying out daily functions.
• Maintain an effective work pace under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Grasp new concepts quickly and apply them effectively.
• Work effectively with others.

The Hawaii State Department of Education requires that all teachers hold a valid teaching license or Emergency Hire Permit. Applicants who do not have a completed Teacher s Education Program must obtain a valid Hawaii teaching license within three years of hire and must enroll in a program to continue employment. Within each year of employment, applicants must demonstrate active pursuit toward meeting Hawaii licensing requirements as set by the Hawaii Teacher Standards Board.
