Overview
Job Title: Cashier/Attendant
Department: Operations
Reports To: Area Supervisor / Operations Manager / Facilities Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Work Schedule: Required to work during normal business hours with occasional extended hours as needed.
Work Location: In-person at assigned facility
The Cashier/Attendant is responsible for all aspects of cashiering operations, including recording, handling, and depositing money from parking-related transactions. This role supports smooth customer interactions, site cleanliness, and accurate revenue processing in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Customer Relations & Service: Provide courteous and professional interactions with customers, vendors, coworkers, and managers; treat others with respect at all times.
- Cash Handling & Transaction Processing: Collect, record, and deposit cash, credit, and other parking-related transactions according to company guidelines; complete and submit shift paperwork including vehicle entry/exit logs where applicable.
- Incident & Maintenance Reporting: Immediately report damages or claims, complete incident reports, and escalate maintenance concerns to the supervisor; alert the supervisor to unusual facility conditions.
- Site Cleanliness & Appearance: Maintain a clean booth or station; ensure signage is clean and functional; wear the uniform and display the identification badge as required.
- Operations & Compliance: Maintain regular attendance with overtime as needed; remain visible to tenants and guests during shifts; dispatch drivers to airport terminals (if applicable); clock in/out at scheduled times.
Required Qualifications:
- Education/
Experience:
High school diploma/ GED or equivalent. 1 to 3 months of related experience or training desirable. Comfortable with data entry and using electronic devices. - Licenses: Valid state driver’s license and proof of insurance. May be required to pass a company driving skills test.
- Language
Skills:
Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions and memos in English; effective one-on-one and small group communication. - Mathematical
Skills:
Basic arithmetic to compute parking costs and process transactions; ability to handle cash and may use adding machine or cash register. - Reasoning Ability: Apply common sense, follow written and oral instructions; address problems with a few variables in standard situations.
- All employees are subject to internal audits to ensure compliance with policies regarding revenue recording, handling, and deposits.
- Failing an internal audit may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
Physical Demands: Regularly stand, use hands for tasks, and reach with arms; frequently walk or run; occasionally sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; occasionally lift up to 25 pounds; vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Work Conditions: Frequent exposure to wet and humid conditions, fumes, airborne particles, and outside weather; noise levels vary from moderate to occasionally loud.
