Peraton requires Technical Writers to support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) - 3. This position is located at Camp H.M. Smith, Hawaii. The purpose of the Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) Task Order (TO) is to provide USSOCOM, its Component Commands, its Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), and its deployed forces with Operations and Maintenance (O&Ms) services to maintain Network Operations (Net Ops);
maintain systems and network infrastructure; provide end user and common device support; provide configuration, change, license, and asset management; conduct training, and perform Install, Move, Add, Change (IMACs) services. The responsibilities and tasks associated with each requirement play a pivotal role to USSOCOM, the CIO/J6 organization, and ultimately the end-user who operate around the globe 24x7x365.
- Plans, designs, and develops detailed technical and non-technical forms, documentation, and references for technical and non-technical programs and processes with limited supervision
- Collaborates with technical staff and customer representatives to document the specifications, design, features, and operation of technical processes and solutions
- Writes and edits user manuals, help systems, and other technical documents
- Designs and formats documents using document-creation software such as Microsoft Word, Power Point, and Adobe Acrobat
- Interviews developers and other technical resource personnel to ensure the accuracy of all content
- Assesses the intended audience and adjusts writing style accordingly
- Collaborates with graphic designers to develop visual aids, including diagrams and charts
- Participates in multi-disciplinary projects and content development initiatives.
- Supports content development through collaboration with subject-matter experts, such as applications developers
