POSITION SUMMARY
The Buyer/Analyst is primarily responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing parts, tooling, repairs, services, and supplies required to support the company’s fleet and maintenance operations. This position manages the procurement process from requisition through delivery, ensuring materials are available when required, purchased at competitive cost, and meet quality, traceability, and regulatory requirements.
The position also provides support for inventory and stockroom control by assisting with the receipt, issuance, storage, shipment, documentation, and reconciliation of materials. The Buyer/Analyst uses inventory, consumption, and demand information to make purchasing and stocking decisions and works closely with Maintenance, Planning, Supply Chain, Finance, and vendors to maintain adequate material support.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Procurement & Inventory Planning — Primary
- Provide adequate and timely material support to maintenance stations and company operations.
- Create, issue, coordinate, and manage purchase and repair orders with approved vendors.
- Coordinate with Maintenance Planning to ensure materials are purchased and staged in advance of scheduled maintenance.
- Review material requisitions, inventory levels, station allocations, usage, and consumption data to determine appropriate stock coverage and reorder points.
- Analyze demand, consumption, manufacturer data, and forecasts to establish appropriate inventory positions and purchasing requirements.
- Source aircraft parts, tooling, MRO services, repairs, and other materials while identifying alternate sources and cost-saving opportunities.
- Assist with RFPs, bids, supplier contracts, and annual/bulk purchasing agreements.
- Conduct price and cost analysis and negotiate pricing, terms, conditions, specifications, and scopes of work with suppliers and contractors.
- Manage removed cores and repair orders, including determining appropriate repair conditions, BER status, exchange options, and beneficial repair sources.
- Monitor rotable and expendable spares and establish appropriate reorder points and inventory allocations.
- Develop and maintain an Approved Supplier List and monitor supplier quality, delivery, pricing, and overall performance.
- Process supplier warranty claims for failed, damaged, or lost components and coordinate resolution with vendors and internal departments.
- Review and resolve purchasing and invoicing discrepancies in coordination with Finance.
- Develop short- and long-term sourcing and inventory planning strategies.
- Monitor industry changes, supplier capabilities, material availability, and alternate sources.
- Identify and document cost savings and cost-avoidance opportunities.

- Support the stockroom in issuing parts and tooling and ensuring proper control and security of company inventory and assets.
