Role Summary

The Cashier provides exceptional customer service by greeting and assisting every customer. They are able to perform all cash register procedures in an accurate, efficient, and courteous manner to maximize sales, cultivate strong customer relationships, and encourage company loyalty. The Cashier thinks and behaves in alignment with House Mart’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service :
    Greets every customer and provides them with personalized assistance to ensure they have a positive experience in our stores.
  • ACE Rewards :
    Promotes ACE Rewards Membership to every customer, highlighting perks and benefits.
  • Craft Club Card :
    Promotes Craft Club Card Membership to every customer, highlighting perks and benefits.
  • Sales and Product Knowledge :
    Builds customer loyalty through suggestive selling and product knowledge. Maintains knowledge on current and advertised store products.
  • Inventory :
    Uses best practices to efficiently handle all register transactions to maintain accurate inventory of products.
  • Safety and Security :
    Works in a safe manner and actively practices prevention methods to protect yourself and others.

Qualifications
  • Customer Service, Retail, and Cash Handling experience preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to complete fundamental cashiering training course.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions.
  • General knowledge and experience with computer systems and two-way radios.
Working Conditions
  • Work Environment :
    Will work under regular store conditions. Occasional exposure to heat, dust, solvents, chemicals, paint, glue, etc.
  • Equipment and Tools :
    Occasional use of store equipment including, but is not limited to two-way radios, hand tools, key machines, paint mixers, computer systems, printers, fax, and other miscellaneous hand tools.
  • Physical Demands :
    Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Ability to push, pull, and/or lift up to 60lbs of material, in addition to lifting and maneuvering up to 100lbs. using a hand truck, on occasion.
