Job Description
Hawthorne Cat is a family‑owned company with over 60 years of experience in the sale, rental, and servicing of construction machinery and power generation equipment. We are looking for an Outside Sales Representative to sell new and used Toro, Club Car, and other Allied prime products and work tools to customers across the island of Hawaiʻi.
Key Responsibilities- Attract potential customers by studying competition, building relationships, obtaining referrals, following up on leads, organizing special marketing events, and recommending pricing.
- Identify potential customers by visiting prospects, assessing needs, explaining products and options, and updating the customer database in Sales Link.
- Sell products by establishing contact, developing relationships with prospects, and recommending solutions.
- Complete sales and purchase agreements, write specifications and pricing changes, follow up on loan applications, and ensure invoicing and payment receipt.
- Prepare professional sales presentations and quotations for customers.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships by providing support, information, and guidance and by recommending new opportunities and profit‑improving measures.
- Provide quality customer service while upholding the company’s vision and standards.
- Maintain professional knowledge by attending training, reviewing publications, networking, benchmarking best practices, and participating in professional societies.
- Maintain full knowledge and utilization of Sales Link, prepare reports, and update records.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Proficient PC skills.
- At least 2 years of industry experience and product‑specific sales experience.
- At least 2 years of experience selling, renting, and handling similar equipment.
- Expertise in business development and utilizing sales control systems.
- Excellent communication skills and proper business etiquette.
- Ability to travel as required.
- Walking, climbing, stooping, and standing on uneven terrain and stairs.
- Handling, lifting, and reaching for equipment and tools (up to 60 lbs).
- Crawling around and under equipment.
- Vision required for reading technical documents and computer work.
- Talking and communicating by phone and in person.
- Work in both office and outdoor settings with varying temperature and weather conditions.
- Exposure to constant or intermittent noise.
