Target Security Specialist

Hourly Rate: $20.75 USD per hour.

• Use intelligence‑led tactics to keep team members and guests safe and secure.
• Respond to crises, manage safety and crowds, and support guests and team members.
• De‑escalate situations and use physical security controls.
• Operate Target's video surveillance system.
• Document cases accurately using case‑management systems, following AP policy.
• Create an easy, inspiring, and friendly guest experience (greet guests, assist with finding items, resolve issues, thank guests).
• Promote a physical security culture, assess and maintain safe and secure standards in store and property.
• Respond to and document security incidents promptly, providing a safe environment.
• Leverage de‑escalation tactics, recover merchandise, assist in threat apprehension per AP policy.
• Prevent theft and shortage at front of store via merchandise receipt checks and trend analysis.
• Submit appropriate documentation in case‑management system for all incidents.
• Work safely, comply with safety policies, and report hazards.
• Perform additional duties as needed.

• Minimum age 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet state or local licensure/legal requirements related to position.
• Friendly, helpful attitude toward guests and team.
• Good communication on multiple frequency devices; operate handheld scanners and other tech.
• Effective communication skills; work independently and with a team.
• Ability to manage workload, prioritize tasks.
• Remain focused and composed in fast‑paced environment; accomplish multiple tasks.
• Physical: climb ladders, apprehend subjects per policy, handle and move merchandise up to 40lbs, work in varying temperatures, humidity and exposure, mobile for shift duration.
