Airport Security Officer Armed Patrol Driver – Kailua Kona, HIPosition Type:
Part Time – Dayshift
Pay Rate: $28.86 per hour with an hourly bonus of $3.58.
Job Schedule- Mon – 11:00 AM to 09:00 PM
- Sun – 11:00 AM to 09:00 PM
- 2+ years of professional law enforcement experience in the United States after graduating from a certified law enforcement academy (Federal, State, or County level).
- Graduate of a Law Enforcement or Military Police Training Program or equivalent.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Law Enforcement Officer License.
- Age 22 or older.
- Completion of one of the following approved programs:
Certified State law enforcement recruit training, Certified County law enforcement recruit training, Federal law enforcement training, or programs approved by the Director. - No felony convictions or convictions for abuse of a household member under the Lautenberg Amendment, or convictions for false statements in federal impeachment proceedings.
- Ability to supervise contractor personnel and work effectively with airport management, tenants, other law enforcement agencies, and the public.
- No record of moral turpitude, domestic violence, untruthfulness, or mental/emotional disorders that may interfere with duties.
- Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly and with problem-solving skills.
- Exercise sound judgement and render immediate, appropriate decisions under stressful conditions.
- Follow orders, accept responsibility for actions.
- Maintain alertness, attentiveness, and professional conduct and respond to situations appropriately.
- Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, in English.
- Maintain courtesy in relationships with the public, airport employees, tenants, law enforcement, and security personnel.
- May be required to attend court appearances for citations issued on behalf of DOTA.
- Mentally and emotionally capable of performing all duties.
- In good physical health and capable of standing, walking, patrolling an entire shift, climbing stairs, running, and performing self‑defense as needed.
- Ability to lift and carry objects up to 25 lbs.
- Assist in safe evacuation of individuals, including carrying small children or persons with limited mobility.
- Subject to random drug screening.
- Exercise physical force if required.
- Pass a security background check conducted by the DOTA pass and e.
- Be well‑groomed and neat in appearance.
- Pass a one‑time physical examination within the past six months.
- Pass a 12‑panel drug test and all future random drug testing.
- Correctable vision to 20/30 each eye with normal color vision.
- Able to hear at a normal conversational level; a hearing aid may be used.
