Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist the Foreman in coordination of projects and crew members to provide optimum service.
- Act as a point of contact with customers, vendors, and subcontractors on site.
- Represent PTS in a professional, positive manner to customers and employees.
- Allocate individual job tasks based on crew skill sets, budgeted hours, and job sequence.
- Facilitate harmonious working relationships to prevent problems and conflicts.
- Perform regular job‑site observations (safety and quality) to guide crew members.
- Serve as intermediary between crew members, informing them of policies, procedures, and PTS requirements.
- Ensure employees follow proper safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and productivity.
- Establish supervisor‑level understanding of all assigned projects.
- Understand and follow drawing packages.
- Mentor less experienced crew members, specifically SSI and SSC.
- Supervise and instruct on tasks, equipment, and tools.
- Operate power tools, air tools, welding equipment, testing equipment, and safety gear proficiently.
- Set up and operate welding machines, generators, and air compressors.
- Operate heavy equipment, including forklifts, skid steers, and aerial lifts.
- Know crane operations and use, including rigging and signaling.
- Assist in caring for and maintaining all tooling and equipment.
- Assist in receiving, inspecting, and inventorying all material.
- Help keep the job site clean and orderly.
- Assist the Foreman with trailer inventory requirements.
- Submit accurate, neat, and orderly documentation promptly.
- Present the Foreman with completed JSA and daily equipment inspection documentation, and delegate AF as discretion allows.
- Complete S309 Weekly Safety Checklist documentation for the Project Job Book and Safety record.
- Strong communication and organization skills.
- Ability to solve problems and suggest system improvements.
- Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, Office).
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Willingness to learn.
- Minimum age 18 years.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Eligibility to work in the United States.
- Willingness to authorize background checks.
- No criminal convictions for dishonesty, sexual misconduct, violence, or acts of terrorism.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Willingness to authorize motor vehicle driving record checks.
- Willingness to submit to pre‑hire, random, and post‑incident drug and alcohol testing.
- Welding ability is a plus.
