Lifeguard

Le Jardin Academy is seeking a Lifeguard (Regular Full-time). The Lifeguard maintains constant surveillance in the pool; acts immediately and appropriately to secure the safety of children in the event of emergency. Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services. Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification required, along with CPR/First Aid Certification. Open Water Lifeguard Certification preferred.

Must be available Monday through Friday, 6:00am-2:00pm. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. No phone calls please. Hourly pay range: $17.00 to $20.00 per hour.

• Maintains constant surveillance of the pool; acts immediately and appropriately to secure safety.
• Enforce all pool rules in a consistent manner.
• Maintain clean environment for all users to include pool deck and changing rooms.
• Respond quickly, intelligently, decisively and in accordance with established emergency and accident management procedures.
• Responsible for maintenance and cleaning of the pool, which includes vacuuming and cleaning pool tiles.
• Be alert to prevent accidents.

• Participates in class lessons as needed.
• Other duties as needed.

• Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification.
• CPR/First Aid certification.
• Open Water Lifeguard Certification preferred.

• Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.

• Skill in the application of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques.
• Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.
• Knowledge of CPR and emergency medical procedures.
• Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.
• Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.
• Ability to meet deadlines in an environment with multiple simultaneous projects.
• Build strong relationships.
• Work independently and frequently without direct supervision.

Frequently required to stand and walk. Occasionally required to lift, push, pull and/or carry items and objects up to 50 pounds.

This position is performed in outdoor weather conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to chemicals and fumes.
