Accounting Specialist

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Kalamazoo, Michigan. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to essential financial tasks, including maintaining accurate records and supporting key accounting processes. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment, demonstrating independence and adaptability while ensuring the efficiency of financial operations.

Responsibilities:

- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely and accurate transactions.

- Perform balance sheet reconciliations to maintain the integrity of financial records.

- Handle billing tasks, including preparation and review of invoices.

- Assist in the development and refinement of accounting workflows and procedures.

- Conduct thorough account reconciliations to identify discrepancies and resolve issues.

- Support general accounting functions, including journal entries and month-end close activities.

- Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.

- Monitor outstanding items and prioritize tasks to stay on track with organizational goals.

- Provide timely and accurate financial reporting to support decision-making processes.

- Adapt to new systems or processes with minimal training and quickly integrate into the team. Requirements - Proven experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.

- Strong skills in balance sheet reconciliation and financial analysis.

- Familiarity with general accounting practices and procedures.

- Ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.

- Proficiency in billing functions and managing financial transactions.

- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

- Strong communication abilities to collaborate effectively with stakeholders.

- Experience with accounting software and tools preferred.
