Alamo Cove Rehab and Nursing Center

As Business Office Manager, you will oversee the financial and administrative operations of our skilled nursing facility. In this role, you will act as a compassionate guide for residents and families and ensure financial compliance for timely billing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Medicaid Application & Eligibility
    • Guide residents and their families through the complex "Medicaid Pending" process all the way to approval.
    • Track the status of pending applications, submitting necessary requests and communicating closely with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.
  • Resident Trust & Funds Management
    • Manage Resident Trust Accounts in compliance with state and federal regulations.
    • Accurately record all deposits, withdrawals, and interest earned.
    • Issue receipts, disburse funds upon request, and conduct thorough monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Accounts Receivable, Collections & Accounts Payable
    • Manage facility Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP), including processing vendor invoices and making deposits.
    • Monitor past‑due accounts and execute collection strategies for private pay balances.
    • Process and record daily cash receipts, ensuring timely deposits.
Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required;
    Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: 2-3 years of business office experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or long‑term care setting.
  • State Knowledge: Strong, working knowledge of Michigan Medicaid (MDHHS) guidelines and application procedures Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS).
  • Skills: Excellent math and organizational skills, proficiency with PCC and outstanding interpersonal/communication abilities.
