General Summary

Provides administrative and budgetary support for the supervisor and the department in a lead capacity.

Major Duties
  • Uses word-processing and spreadsheet software to produce and edit complex letters, memos, reports, statistical tables and other documents. Completes assignments that are broad in nature.
  • Responds independently to complex questions regarding the department. Develops and explains departmental policies and procedures.
  • Provides lead budgetary support, including monitoring, tracking, reconciliation, forecasting and recommending budget allocations. Prepares and analyzes budget reports.
  • Has responsibility for office management. Coordinates office functions and oversees supplies.
  • Develops and oversees a department process or program in coordination with the supervisor.
  • Schedules appointments and coordinates meetings; makes travel arrangements.
  • May update the content of the department’s website.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Post high school training or education.
  • Three years’ relevant experience.
  • Proficiency with word-processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Experience with using and querying databases and entering and tracking budget data.
Desired Qualifications
  • Demonstrated success in communicating effectively with a diverse range of constituencies including staff, faculty, K-12 administrators, community members, and youth.
  • Experience working with first generation and low-income families.
  • Experience with GEAR UP Partnership Grants or similar Pre-College Preparation and Readiness Projects
  • Experience with Federal grants.
  • Experience processing grant paperwork such as time and effort reports, cost share agreements, etc.

  • Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
