Hillside Middle School

$26,729 - $33,760 (Pay Rate for 2025 - 2026 School Year)

10-month, 194 Days, Full-Time

Scope of Responsibilities

Works in a secondary building, assists with students having attendance problems and/or home-school concerns, visits homes, and helps to improve home/school communication.

Performance Responsibilities
  • Works with students referred by the building principal to assist with attendance problems and helps resolve the problems.
  • Visits home of students having attendance problems and communicates with parents about school concerns.
  • Communicates parent concerns to the building principal and to the classroom teacher.
  • Attends the building staff meetings and participates as needed.
  • Attends meetings at the direction of the building principal.
  • Prepares written reports as requested by the building principal. Maintains records of activities.
  • Contacts agencies and other referral sources at the direction of the building principal.
  • Assists with various school duties at the direction of the principal, i.e., supervises groups of students, helps with student activities, etc.
  • Makes presentations to groups of teachers or parents at the request of the principal.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Accredited Equivalency.
  • Completion of job-related classes in education, psychology, social work, or sociology.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully interact with students, staff, and families in diverse/multi-cultural settings.
  • Experience working with community agencies and human services resources.
  • Ability to work with groups.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Evidence of a desirable work record (i.e., low absenteeism, good job performance, flexibility).
